Warming Centers
Anyone needing immediate assistance should contact 911
Bitter cold temperatures are more than an inconvenience; they pose a serious threat to health and safety. Rockland County, in partnership with local towns and villages, offers services to help residents weather the winter months. A Warming Center is a heated facility in which residents can find safe refuge from extreme weather. Please call before going to confirm it is open.
Especially at risk from the cold are the elderly, infants and young children, people with disabilities and persons taking medication for chronic health conditions. Residents who have at-risk friends, neighbors or relatives should help by checking on them periodically.
Each of the following locations listed have been designated as Warming Centers. Other sites may become available on an as-needed basis.
Please visit individual town and village websites for additional information and updates. Residents using the facilities as Warming Centers should advise facility staff of their presence.
