RC SWCD will host its first FREE bird walk on Friday, February 15 at Mount Ivy County Park. Staff will lead the public in a guided bird walk around the park. Those attending will learn how to identify resident and migratory bird species found in the wetland park habitat. All birds documented will be uploaded to eBird as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count, a project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society. Location: Mount Ivy County Park (Located near the Hi Tor Animal Care Center and Fire Training Center). Directions: Follow directions to address 35 Firemens Memorial Dr, Pomona, NY 10970. Park in the Fire Training Center lot and walk up to the entrance to Mount Ivy. The program will start at the gate. Dress appropriately for the weather. |
