• All funding request applications MUST be completed using the Online PDF Application Form. 
• All completed application forms must be emailed to explorerocklandny@co.rockland.ny.us.
• Application forms submitted by U.S. Mail, Priority/Overnight Mail, and/or Hand-Delivery will NOT be accepted.
• Application forms will NOT be accepted after the closing date.

Funding Purpose & Overview

The goal of Rockland County Tourism Grant Program is to provide funding to promote local events and attractions outside of the county and increase visitor spending. Tourism provides a direct economic benefit to the area and creates the most impact when visitors travel 50 or more miles away and/or stay overnight. Projects should include, but are not limited to, those that enhance Rockland's cultural, arts, historical, nature-based attractions, etc.  The program strongly encourages collaboration with other organizations to maximize the impact resulting from economies of scale. Requests demonstrating collaboration will be favorably considered. For-profit companies must partner with a non-profit to be eligible for funding.

Award Amounts

Awards will range from $5k to $30k depending on project plan and budget.

Budget / Reimbursement Process

• Organizations must submit a budget detailing how funds will be used.
• Awarded funds will be distributed AFTER expenses have been incurred and the proper documentation has been submitted.

Program Guidelines

• All funds must be used and billed by Friday, November 15, 2024 or your award will be forfeited.
• In the event your program takes place after Friday, November 15, 2024, you must obtain prior approval from the office of the Director of Economic Development and Tourism by Monday, September 16, 2024 in order to proceed.
• Applicants MUST use the Rockland County Tourism logo on all promotional materials (i.e., print, digital, etc.) and social media. All materials must be submitted for approvable PRIOR to use. Logo can be downloaded here.
• Projects must be accessible to the public. ADA accessible preferred.
• Applicants may include events, projects, programs, etc., that can be presented in a virtual format after obtaining approval from the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

Directions for submitting the completed 2024 Rockland County Tourism Grant Application:

1. Download the application and fill it out using a PDF viewer on your computer. After completing the digital form, please print the form and sign/date it.
2. Scan the completed application.
3. Attach the signed and completed application to an email in PDF format.
4. Send the email to: explorerocklandny@co.rockland.ny.us.
