Election Day Information

The ongoing COVID-19 Health Emergency has created challenges for all of us. Rest assured, your Board of Elections staff has worked tirelessly to ensure all eligible voters can cast a ballot in a safe, efficient manner.

3 Ways to Vote:

ABSENTEES: The State Legislature passed a bill allowing the risk of COVID infection to fall under the Temporary Illness Category. The Governor signed the legislation on August 20, 2020, ensuring all eligible may access absentee voting this November. Remember, if you are applying due to risk of COVID, check off temporary illness or disability. They also took steps to expand methods to submit your request.

  • You can mail your application.
  • Send the application electronically to VoterInfo@co.rockland.ny.us
  • Email a letter/email request to VoterInfo@co.rockland.ny.us. Each voter should send a separate email with: Name, Date of Birth, Address, Mailing Address, and Reason for the Request. (COVID-19 Risk= Temporary Illness).
  • Complete an application by phone. The voter must call 845.638.5172. Agents cannot apply on a voter's behalf.

ELECTION DAY: We expect most sites to be open and they will be stocked with masks, gloves, sanitizers, and wipes. Social distancing will be enforced. Voters take home a souvenir pen!
