Family Planning Services
This clinic provides confidential services to women in their childbearing years (teens to pre-menopause). Services include gynecological ("GYN") exams, contraception (methods to prevent pregnancy), pregnancy testing and counseling, and nutrition education. Women can get pap tests, pelvic exams and breast exams. We provide STI (sexually transmitted infections) testing and treatment, and HIV counseling and testing for men and women. We also refer clients to other medical providers and community resources as needed.
Our Staff Includes: doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, HIV counselors, and interpreters.
Fees:
We charge one fee for all services, including birth control! We accept Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care. We offer a sliding fee scale (based on ability to pay) for patients without insurance. Teens and others may be eligible for free services; just ask for details. Be sure to ask about our free family planning benefits program. For more information click here.

Adult Immunization
The clinic offers routine United States-required adult immunizations for under-served residents based on eligibility. College students 19 and older are provided free vaccines, for example the MMR (measles/mumps/rubella) and polio vaccines.We recommend that you bring your previous vaccination records.

Child Immunization

Influenza “flu”
For those six months and older, the Health Department offers the flu vaccine which does not contain preservatives, including thimerosal. The vaccine offers protection against four different flu virus strains that research shows will be most common during this flu season: two influenza (flu) A virus strains and two influenza B virus strains. A high dose flu vaccine will be given to those 65 years of age and older. The vaccine is free of charge. For those with Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance, please bring your health insurance card.

Sexual Health
Formerly known as the STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) Clinic
The Health Department provides a confidential clinic for testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. Additional services include Expedited Partner Therapy for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis; HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for qualifying individuals; confidential HIV testing; vaccinations against Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B; and vaccination against Human Papillomavirus (HPV- Gardasil) for individuals aged 18-26; vaccination against meningococcal bacteria (MenACWY); and vaccination against mpox virus. Individuals may begin or complete their vaccine series at the Sexual Health clinic. If you want to complete your vaccine series with us, please provide documentation of the previous vaccination(s) if available.
As of November 2014, the Sexual Health Clinic asks individuals 20 years of age and older for their insurance information. All individuals under 20 years of age and all those without insurance will continue to receive our services including vaccinations at no cost.

If you previously completed the full two-dose mpox vaccination series, there is no need to receive additional doses at this time.

What is PrEP?
- PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication that prevents HIV and promotes sexual health.
- It is for anyone- straight, gay, bisexual, male, female, transgender, or gender non-conforming.
- PrEP is available for people who are HIV negative (not living with HIV). When a person takes PrEP as directed, it is 99% effective at preventing HIV (New York State, 2021).

Tuberculosis (TB) Services/Chest Clinic
The Rockland County Department of Health's Chest Clinic offers medical evaluation and treatment of TB infection and disease in both children and adults. Finding and treating TB early can prevent serious medical problems, and the spread of the disease to others. All our services are by appointment only.
