In 2002, Joe was elected to the Airmont Village Board of Trustees and was re-elected in 2004.

While on the Airmont Village Board, Joe utilized his legal experience to address zoning, land use, and a wide variety of quality of life issues affecting residents of Airmont and the Town of Ramapo.  Joe is an active supporter of Preserve Ramapo – a local, good government group seeking to change land use and other policies of our Ramapo Town Government.  While a Trustee, Joe served on the Executive Board of The Ramapo Conference of Village Trustees.  In 2007 Airmont Mayor Dennis Kay appointed Joe Deputy Mayor.
