FEMA Disaster Recovery Workshop - 02/04/2013 12:52 PM
WHEN:          Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHAT:         FEMA Disaster Recovery Workshop to assist individuals, businesses and homeowners. This workshop is free.

WHERE:       Rockland County Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point, NY 10980

FEMA representatives will be able to answer questions regarding disaster assistance and representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration can answer questions about disaster loans.

Representatives from FEMA's Individual Assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration, Community Relations, Mitigation and Flood Insurance will be in attendance, as well as, representatives from the town of Stony Point Building and Zoning Department.

Rockland residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy now have until Wednesday, February 27, 2013 to apply for FEMA assistance and SBA loans.

Although the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center has closed at Provident Bank Park, residents can call 1-800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585 or for 7-1-1 Relay or Video Relay Services (VRS) call 800-621-3362 to speak with a FEMA representative.

A FEMA Language Assistance Line is available for those who need interpretation services in languages other than English or Spanish. Call: 866-333-1796.

The toll-free telephone numbers operate 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. EST seven days a week until further notice.

Residents can file for disaster assistance, get help filing insurance claims, check the status of their registration or find out about low-interest loans for homeowners, renters and businesses from the Small Business Administration.

$2.1 Million in FEMA Disaster Assistance Funds Disbursed to Rockland Residents Affected by Superstorm Sandy
County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Branch III Director Steve Ward announced today that $2.1 million dollars in FEMA disaster assistance has been distributed to 326 Rocklanders to use for rent, repairs or other needs.  According to FEMA, one thousand additional Rockland applications for assistance are still pending.

County Executive Urges Rocklanders to Apply for FEMA Assistance
County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef today urged Rocklanders who suffered damage from Super Storm Sandy to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  This is the final weekend that the two Rockland Disaster Recovery Centers will be open.

County Executive Announces End of Gas Restrictions in Rockland
 Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef  today announced that beginning at 6 p.m. this evening there will no longer be any restrictions on the amount of gasoline or diesel purchased and sold in Rockland.  Following Hurricane Sandy, Vanderhoef imposed a Local Emergency Order limiting the amount of gasoline or diesel purchased to 10 gallons per vehicle, per day, including portable fuel...

FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Opens Saturday, November 10th in Rockland County
County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be opening a Disaster Recovery Center in Rockland County beginning Saturday, November 10, to assist victims of Hurricane Sandy. The Disaster Recovery Center will be located at:  Provident Bank Park, 2nd Floor Community Room,1 Provident Bank Park Drive, Pomona, NY 10970.

Rockland County Shelter Closes
Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef has announced that effective tonight, the County shelter located at the Rockland Community College field house will be closed.  The shelter was opened to house those needing a place to stay in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
