Redistricting
Rockland County's 17 County Legislative districts have been redrawn to equalize the population in each district using data from the 2020 census.
The Rockland County Legislature adopted a new law to create the new districts on Nov. 1, 2022. The County Executive approved the resolution on Nov. 22, 2022. The law was subject to a permissive referendum, but no petition requesting a referendum was filed as of Feb. 3, 2023. The law was filed with the New York State Secretary of State on Feb. 8, 2023, when it immediately took effect.
The new County Legislative Districts are in effect as of Jan. 1, 2024.
All 17 County Legislature seats are up for election this November. All candidates will run for seats in districts that are reflected by the new maps.
Please visit the County Legislature’s Redistricting page for details about the redistricting process, for links to an overview map of the districts, and for individual maps of each of the 17 Legislative Districts.
