Redistricting
Rockland County's 17 County Legislative districts will be redrawn to equalize the population in each district using data from the 2020 census. The Rockland County Legislature's Redistricting Committee approved resolutions for two proposed plans, Plan A and Plan B, and sent them to the full County Legislature for consideration. The County Legislature held a public hearing on Plan A on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022. The County Legislature held a public hearing on Plan B on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022. The Legislature adopted Plan B on Nov. 1, 2022.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Legislature of Rockland County on November 1, 2022 passed a local law which was approved by the County Executive on November 22, 2022, and deemed duly adopted, subject to a permissive referendum as required by law.
LOCAL LAW NO ____ OF 2023 - A Local Law Amending The Rockland County Code - Chapter 5 (Local Law No. 7 Of 1985, As Amended By Local Law No. 15 Of 1997, Local Law No. 3 Of 2002, and Local Law No. 1 of 2011) And Chapter 101 (Local Law No. 1 Of 1985, as amended by Local Law No. 15 of 1997 and Local Law No. 1 of 2011) - For The Purpose Of Adopting A Redistricting Plan In Compliance With The Results Of The 2020 Census, With New District Lines To Take Effect January 1, 2024.

Legislative Sessions
Full legislative sessions are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7pm but are subject to change. Videoconferencing is being used to conduct all Legislative meetings pursuant to Rockland County Local Law No. 13 of 2022. In-person comments will not be accepted, however, the public is invited to email their comments to legclerk@co.rockland.ny.us. Comments will be provided to the members of the Legislature.
