This annual springtime event held at Rockland Community College affords the community the opportunity to interact with many of the services available to children, youth and families in Rockland County under one roof with no admission fee and no fees for any services, activities, etc. provided during the course of the day. Businesses and agencies exhibit their programs and services in a fun, interactive family-friendly format. Program services range from birth to adolescents. The event also provides a venue for organizations to put on performances and interactive demonstrations.
This year's event was held on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Please see our flyer for more info.
Rockland Community College holds their Open House on the same day with a special section of the fieldhouse dedicated to RCC Admissions, scholarships, sports programs and more. Also held the same day is Rockland County Government Day, where visitors have the opportunity to view interactive demonstrations and displays and meet with County government departments. Departmental representatives are on hand to have any questions or concerns answered.
We are proud to host over 5,000 children, youth and adults at this event!
Not only has YouthFest provided a venue for the residents of Rockland County to experience the array of extraordinary services and programs that are available to them right in their own community, it has also provided the opportunity to see how they may collaborate on new projects that meet identified needs in the community.
The Rockland County YouthFest is a collaborative effort and is staffed by a team of dedicated volunteers from Rockland Community College, Hudson Valley Boy Scout Council, Hackensack UMC, HeadStart of Rockland Inc, Liberty Mutual, New Horizons Baton Twirlers, AM/PM Consulting, H&S Sales Consultants, Inc., Nyack Hospital and TD Bank. The Rockland County Youth Bureau serves as the lead agency for this annual event.
Approximately 175 agencies and businesses participate each year. Through our exhaustive fundraising efforts and thanks to contributions from businesses, we have been able to offer free/low-cost booth space to all non-profit agencies in Rockland County.
