Youth Forum is an annual awards dinner held by the Rockland County Youth Bureau. At this event, we publicly acknowledge exceptional individuals that contribute their time, energy and skills to the operation of vital services in Rockland. Criteria are based on a demonstrated commitment to volunteer service in the community.

At Youth Forum, five awards are presented for extraordinary volunteer community service:

The Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award
Two young people are selected by the Youth Bureau Advisory Board to receive this award and a $1,000 check for his/her dedicated service.  This award is for volunteer community service, not for scholastic achievement or school related activities, clubs, etc.  Non-college bound youth that have given service are just as qualified to receive the award as college-bound youth.  The nominee must be able to corroborate two years of consistent service to one or more organizations or causes in Rockland County.

The Father F. Peter Malet Award
Nominations for this award are based on exceptional volunteer community service by an adult volunteer.  The recipient is selected based on their dedicated work on behalf of children, youth and families of Rockland.

The Youth Forum Business Award
Nominations for this award are based on an active role in the promotion of children, youth and families in Rockland County.  The nominee must be a business in Rockland County that has supported the efforts of schools, not-for-profits and/or government departments.

The Dennis J. Fleming Award
One individual is selected by the Youth Bureau Advisory Board for this award for their long-term commitment and advocacy efforts on behalf of children and youth.

Awards are made possible by private contributions from local businesses and individuals throughout Rockland County.
