The Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge

The County of Rockland was actively involved in several aspects of the State project to construct the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, a new bridge to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge.  As a member of the Selection Committee that recommended the winning proposal for the bridge design, the County was able to ensure that Rockland residents and our region's travelers received the best value option.

Following the completion of the Mass Transit Task Force activities, the State announced plans for a new bus service - the Lower Hudson Transit Link - which replaced the existing TAPPAN ZEExpress bus service at bridge opening in 2018.
