County Executive Ed Day today unveiled a cutting-edge, interactive mapping and information application designed to pinpoint a resident's address in relation to the Indian Point nuclear power plants - with easy-to-use search functions. Residents can access the application on a desktop computer or from any mobile device.

New Greenway Trails Designated in North Rockland
The Rockland County Department of Planning has joined with the Hudson River Valley Greenway, the Village of West Haverstraw, the Village of Haverstraw and the Rockland Riverfront Communities Council to announce two new Greenway Trails in Rockland County.

Planning Federation Annual Dinner set for March 31st
The Rockland Municipal Planning Federation will host its 26th Annual Dinner Meeting on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 7-10 PM at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills in Stony Point. This year's dinner will include a keynote presentation by Art Collins, President of Collins Enterprises, who will discuss Residential and Commercial Development Trends in the Hudson Valley region.

Planning Federation Dinner Meeting to Discuss Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement Project
The Rockland Municipal Planning Federation will host its 25th Annual Dinner Meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 7 pm at the New York Country Club, located at 103 Brick Church Road in New Hempstead. A special presentation about the "New NY Bridge" project that will replace the Tappan Zee will be given by Brian Conybeare, Special Advisor to the Governor.

Planning Federation Hosts 2012 Certification Course Fall Session 2
The Rockland Municipal Planning Federation is only offering Session II of the certification courses again this fall. This course is free and will help fulfill the certification requirement for municipal, planning and zoning board members, as well as provide three hours of training for each member towards their four-hour State training requirement. The Rockland County Department of Planning has announced that the American Planning Association's (APA's) NY Metro Chapter recently honored Michael D'Angelo, Director of Research, with the Robert Ponte Award. The Chapter grants the annual Robert Ponte Award to an individual who, through economic planning and development, has made significant contribution to the vitality of the New York Area.

County Provides Comments On TZ Bridge Project
County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef submitted comments last week on the Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing Project Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). In a letter accompanying the comments, Vanderhoef stated, "We support the Governors mission to expedite the construction of a new Zappan Zee Bridge, and the best way to get that done is to have an open and transparent planning process".

County Completes MTA Value Gap Analysis Report
The report was commissioned to update the 2005 value gap study sponsored by MTA. Cambridge Systematics, Inc. (CS), the transportation consulting firm who co-authored MTA's own 2005 study, developed this new report for the County using 2010 data.
