National Diabetes Prevention Program: Learn how you can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes if you are at risk for type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. This free, highly successful one-year program will help you prevent diabetes. You will learn how to improve your food choices and lose weight, increase your physical activity level, and learn coping skills to maintain weight loss - Call 364-2651 for more information & eligibility. Living Well with Diabetes: This free six-session series will help you: understand type 2 diabetes and learn how to prevent complications; keep track of your blood sugar, eat healthy; be more physically active; learn relaxation techniques to cope with stress; and take charge of your health. A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls: This free eight-session fall-prevention program meets once a week for two hours. It will help you learn to reduce your fear and risk of falling and show you simple exercises to increase your strength and balance. The next program will begin in Spring 2020. Tai Chi for Arthritis: This free program meets twice per week for one hour for eight weeks. This program will help relieve problems experienced by people with arthritis, namely pain, and stiffness.
