Create a culture of health in your workplace

NEW CITY, NY - - Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert announce that HealtheConnections, together with the Rockland County Departments of Health and Mental Health and the County Executive's Office, are hosting a Workplace Wellness Summit on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, located at 35 Firemen's Memorial Drive in Pomona. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This event is FREE.

Employers will learn how to initiate or expand a workplace wellness program and be linked with area providers who can come to your place of business for little or no cost to provide awareness and educational programs. Workplace wellness programs include resources for physical wellness and mental health wellness.

"We encourage local employers to attend this important summit. Studies have found that a healthy workforce is linked to happier employees, lower medical costs, higher productivity, lower absenteeism, accident reduction and higher business performance," said Dr. Ruppert.

This summit is an opportunity for employers to:

  • Learn how to build a strong employee wellness program
  • Gain inspiration from businesses and organizations who have successfully improved their employee's health through low or no cost programs
  • Network with organizations in your area that provide FREE programs and resources to promote health and wellness in the workplace
