CALLING ALL MEN: TIME TO TAKE IMPORTANT STEPS TOWARD GOOD HEALTH

NEW CITY, NY - - During National Men's Health Week, June 12th - Father's Day, June 18th, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert encourage men to schedule a check-up for a full physical exam.

During your check-up, talk to your doctor about steps you can take to improve your health and prevent disease. Be sure to ask your doctor what tests and screenings you should have including cancer-screening tests, what lifestyle changes you need to make to keep healthy and fit, vaccinations you may need, and any other questions or concerns you have. Bring a list of all medications and supplements you're taking, note any allergies or reactions to medications you've had, and update your medical history (including potential hereditary illnesses of your close relatives). After the check-up, be sure to follow your doctor's advice!

"Regular medical exams, preventive screenings, and healthy lifestyle choices can help men live happier, healthier, and longer lives," said Dr. Ruppert.
