The Rockland County School Health and Wellness Coalition (School Coalition) is a collaborative group of Rockland schools, organizations and businesses with a shared vision to have the healthiest students, staff and school communities in the nation. To achieve this, our mission is to educate and facilitate collaboration between schools, local agencies and businesses to support, optimize and sustain the health and productivity of our students, school staff and community.

School Coalition Activities

School Health and Wellness Coalition activities are designed to support the education community by offering:

  • Technical assistance in updating and implementing wellness policies and practices
  • Professional development
  • Collaboration with community organizations

Resources Available to the Public

  • March Forward - Rockland County's 2-Week Classroom-based Physical Activity Awareness Celebration, March 1-15, 2023.
  • Annual professional development programming. Check again in September 2023 for listing of professional learning focused on physical activity and healthy nutrition in school. 
  • Health Fair Planning Guide provides step by step instructions on how to plan a successful health fair. The Guide also includes templates for letters, lists and forms.
