COVID-19 VACCINE AVAILABLE FOR AGES 12+ AT PALISADES CENTER

NEW CITY, NY, - The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) announces the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine will be given on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 1:00-3:00PM at the Palisades Center on the 1st floor in front of H&M (1000 Palisades Center Dr., West Nyack, NY 10994). Anyone age 12 and older can visit http://rcklnd.us/covid19 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are encouraged but not necessary. Walk-ins are welcome and will be registered on-site.

Any 12–17-year-old receiving the vaccine must arrive with a parent or guardian who will sign a consent form. The parent or guardian must show some form of personal identification, such as a driver's license. If you have health insurance, please bring your benefit card with you. The vaccine is free; however, the health department can collect an administrative fee from insurance plans. All are welcome regardless of immigration status.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine uses mRNA technology which continues to prove to be safe and effective for individuals 12+. This vaccine is an important public health tool that protects people from getting sick or severely ill with COVID-19 and may also help those around you.

"We are in a race against preventing the spread of more infectious COVID-19 variants from circulating in our community. Getting vaccinated for COVID-19 can prevent severe illness and death. Let's work together and help end this pandemic by encouraging all eligible individuals to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated," said County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert.

"We are grateful to partner with the Rockland County Department of Health in a continuing effort to keep our employees, tenants, guests, and community safe," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager at Palisades Center. "We encourage everyone at Palisades Center to take advantage of this convenient opportunity so we can start the summer season healthy and strong."

"Thank you to the Palisades Center for hosting this clinic and helping spread the word to all of the businesses and their employees about this opportunity. Our Department of Health is providing easy access to these lifesaving vaccines and will continue to do so as we work to get more Rocklanders vaccinated," said County Executive Ed Day.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine requires you to get a second dose 21 days/3 weeks after your first dose. You will be given an appointment for your second dose or you may go anywhere the Pfizer vaccine is offered.
