Get free information and in-person help to renew or apply for health insurance through the NY State of Health Marketplace at Finkelstein Library

NEW CITY, NY - - With the approaching Open Enrollment Period for the NY State of Health Marketplace, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert remind residents that free help is available to those who need health insurance. Open Enrollment will run November 1, 2018, to January 31, 2019.

Join us Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the Finkelstein Library, located at 24 Chestnut Street in Spring Valley, from 1 pm to 4 pm, and meet with Navigators (trained Health Department staff) for free information and in-person help to renew or apply for health insurance through the NY State of Health Marketplace. No appointments are needed. Navigators who speak, English, Spanish and Creole can provide free, in-person, assistance to help you enroll or renew health insurance through the NY State of Health Marketplace.

You can also sign-up online at www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov; by phone (toll-free) at 1-855-355-5777; or in-person by scheduling an appointment with a Navigator from the Health Department at 845-364-3394 or with a Navigator from the Monsey Community Outreach Center, who speaks English and Yiddish, at 845-356-9600.

"We encourage residents to sign-up for health insurance or renew their current coverage. The Health Department's Navigators can help you get health insurance for yourself and your children and give you the peace of mind that access to health care brings," said Dr. Ruppert.

You may also qualify for health care coverage from Medicaid, the Essential Plan, or Child Health Plus through the NY State of Health Marketplace.
