NEW CITY, NY - - Do you have concerns about falling? Are you at risk for type 2 diabetes? Do you want to better manage your type 2 diabetes?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert recommend that you take one of the Health Department's free workshop series to help you reach your goal of living a healthier lifestyle. You'll gain the skills you need to make lifestyle changes to: help prevent or delay developing type 2 diabetes; better manage your type 2 diabetes; prevent a fall; and improve the quality of your life. Register now and take charge of your health!
Diabetes Prevention Program: Learn how you can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes if you are at risk for diabetes or have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The next free 16-session workshop series begins on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in Haverstraw.
Living Well with Diabetes: Learn how to better self-manage your type 2 diabetes and reduce the risk of complications. The next free 6-week workshop series will be held on Wednesdays, from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm, from August 31 to October 5, in Garnerville.
A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls: Learn how to reduce your fear and risk of falling, and simple exercises to increase your strength and balance. The next free eight-week fall-prevention programs will be held:
- Thursdays, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, September 8 to October 27, 2016, in Garnerville
- Fridays, from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm, September 16 to November 4, 2016, in Pearl River
