Statement from County Executive Ed Day

I am relieved that last night the Rockland County Legislature delivered on their promise to pass the four resolutions necessary to ensure the functionality of the new County Office of Buildings and Codes.

Preparing for the takeover has been an all-hands-on deck situation with staff from the Office of Fire and Emergency Services, Facilities Department, Purchasing Department, Information and Technology Services, Law Department, Personnel Department, Finance Department, Office of Consumer Protection, and the Office of the County Executive taking part.

It has been an incredibly detailed and time-consuming process to create an entirely new Office within County Government and now, thanks to the County Legislature, we have the tools and support we need to take over the functions of the Spring Valley Building Department as Ordered by New York State.
