Rockland County Welcomes Hyatt, Joie de Vivre Brand to the Neighborhood
Great “Time” to Rebrand: Iconic Rockland County Hotel Injected with New “Joie de Vivre”
Popular Time Hotel Rebranded as Hotel Nyack Under Hyatt’s Joie de Vivre Brand
New City, NY, - County Executive Ed Day and Economic Development and Tourism Director Jeremy Schulman today announced that the well-known Time Hotel located at 400 High Street in Nyack will be rebranded as the first Hyatt Joie de Vivre property in the state outside of New York City and renamed Hotel Nyack.
“It has been exciting to see the property’s transformation from factory warehouse to chic hotel to the just announced update,” said County Executive Ed Day. “Hotel Nyack’s evolution reflects the growing energy of the Village of Nyack itself and the entrepreneurial spirit of Rockland County as a whole. Congratulations and much success to all parties coming together under the new, auspicious arrangement.”
“As gateways to the region, the Hotel Nyack, the Village of Nyack and the County of Rockland are places where people want to stay, minutes from the Hudson River shoreline, the new bike-ped attraction over the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge and downtown services,” said Anthony Damiano, General Manager of the Hotel Nyack. “We love being in Rockland County and thank its leadership team for its vision and continued support.”
“The rebranding comes at a favorable time with the economy in recovery-mode. Because the Hotel Nyack has always straddled the line well by catering to both out-of-county and local visitor markets, it has tremendous potential to be a regional draw for Rockland County due to its top-of-the-line amenities and location,” said Jeremy Schulman, Rockland County Director of Economic Development and Tourism. We look forward to helping the entire hotel team position this property and the surrounding area for future growth.”
With the county aggressively courting the lucrative film industry, Rockland has quickly become a major filming destination. But that only happens with great partners such as the Hotel Nyack having been so accommodating to this rising business travel from New York City by hosting recent production crews.
The economic outlook is positive as Rockland’s hotel market has been increasing by almost ten percent per month compared to the same period last year, according to industry reports. Group and sports travel bookings are already filling up for the summer.
“Having a modern, well-operated and updated hotel so close to downtown Nyack is essential to the economic prosperity and continued revitalization of the village,” said Nyack Mayor Don Hammond. “Gaining the affiliation of a major brand while retaining the personalized feel of a boutique product describes the competitive advantages of Nyack and the county with niche yet outsized appeal compared to the rest of the region. We welcome this new partnership and look forward to working together.”
A grand opening/ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new hotel is scheduled for early summer 2021.
