Statement from Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Laura Carbone

Please be advised that 11 of the COVID-19 related deaths being added to the total on the Rockland County Coronavirus Dashboard this afternoon took place 1-2 months ago and DO NOT indicate any recent/current increased death rate trend. The delay in counting them is due to the fact that the Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office just received death certificates for these prior deaths which had not been previously reported to us.
