Rockland Transitions Additional Staff to Remote Operation
New City, NY, - County Executive Ed Day announced that, in light of increasing COVID-19 case numbers throughout Rockland, additional staff from designated departments will, effective Friday, November 20, 2020, work remotely to ensure the continuation of critical governmental services.
“Some departments have continued to have staff work remotely throughout the year and we are now having additional employees take part,” said County Executive Ed Day. “We had previously established plans to limit in-person interactions while maintaining a high level of services for residents and are now moving forward with them. This is a measured and methodical step in response to rising case numbers.”
Numerous precautions were put in place within County buildings to protect residents and staff upon entering Phase 3 of the NY Forward Reopening plan in June including:
- Face coverings are required to enter county buildings.
- Elevators and vehicles are limited to 50% occupancy.
- Additional hand hygiene stations have been installed.
- Enhanced cleaning procedures.
- New building entry screening procedure using thermal scanners.
