HEALTH DEPARTMENT ALERTS RESIDENTS OF POTENTIAL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) EXPOSURES

New City, NY -- The Rockland County Department of Health has been notified that a staff person at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack (128 Parrott Rd, West Nyack, NY 10994) tested positive for COVID-19 and was at the following masses during their infectious period:

Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 10:15 am
Sunday, November 8, 2020, at 12:00 pm

Anyone who attended these masses should contact the Rockland County Department of Health COVID Call Center at 845-238-1956 to determine if they should quarantine. If your call is not answered, please leave a message with your complete contact information and we will contact you as soon as possible.

The Rockland County Department of Health is working closely with the Church and will continue to update the public, as necessary.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. The Rockland County Department of Health reminds residents of the need to stay at least 6 feet apart from other people who are not from their household in both indoor and outdoor spaces. This social distancing should be practiced in combination with everyday preventive actions including wearing masks, avoid touching one's face with unwashed hands, staying home when unwell, and frequently washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
