Measles Outbreak Declared over in Rockland

Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert declared the end to the 2018-2019 measles outbreak in Rockland. A measles outbreak is officially declared over 42 days (two incubation periods) after the last rash onset date of the last person with measles. Fitch Ratings Upgrades Rockland Bonds to “a” Rating

County Executive Ed Day and Commissioner of Finance Stephen DeGroat announced today that Fitch Ratings upgraded the County’s General Obligation Bond Rating from “A-” to “A.” This is the tenth consecutive bond upgrade since 2014, when Rockland's bonds were rated just above junk and the county had a $138 million deficit.
