Statement from Rockland County Executive Day on Passing of President George H.W. Bush

The County of Rockland mourns with the nation at the passing of President George H.W. Bush. Wednesday, December 5th has been declared a National Day of Mourning in honor of President Bush's passing; in keeping with that declaration, I ask that all who fly the Flag join Rockland County government and lower their Flags to half-staff on that day.

President Bush's life of public service should be an example to us all; from his days in the Navy to his service as President he demonstrated a love for country that will not soon be forgotten. Let us all pause today and think of how we can continue his legacy; through public service, through compassion and by leaving something better behind when we have passed.
