Rockland County Executive Urges Residents to Give Blood to Show Unity
NEW CITY, NY – Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Commissioner of Human Rights Constance L. Frazier ask residents to give blood as an act of unity during a Dec. 19 blood drive.
"Blood is something we all share and something we all need to live," the County Executive said. "We are all different but our need for blood is the same."
The Community Unity blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, 35 Firemen's Memorial Drive, Pomona.
The County Executive will donate blood at 12 noon that day.
The blood drive is organized by county employees. It will be run by the New York Blood Center, which serves hospitals in Rockland County and throughout the region.
