County of Rockland Announces Civil Service Examination for Police on November 19
NEW CITY, NY – The County of Rockland is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the Civil Service examinations for the positions of Police Officer and Patrol Officer.
Those who wish to pursue a rewarding career in law enforcement are encouraged to apply to take the Civil Service examination, which will be held on Nov. 19, said Rockland Personnel Commissioner Joan Silvestri.
The tests, which are the first step in the process of becoming a police officer, are administered by the County of Rockland. Applications are now being accepted online at rocklandgov.com and by mail.
"Law enforcement is a proud career," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day, a former New York City police commander. "It is a special way of caring for your community."
Both Commissioner Silvestri and Rockland County Human Rights Commissioner Penny Jennings are reaching out to different communities in Rockland to make sure as many people as possible are aware of the upcoming test.

• at the Rockland County Department of Personnel, 18 New Hempstead Rd., New City, NY 10956
• at any town or village police station within Rockland County and at the Rockland County Sheriff's Office.

The application filing fee per examination is $30. Applications must be postmarked by September 30
