ROCKLAND COUNTY T.E.E.N. WORKS PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2016 SUMMER SESSION

Eligible Youth Must Submit Applications By June 10, 2016

NEW CITY, NY  --  The Rockland County Youth Bureau is now accepting applications for the 2016 summer session of the T.E.E.N. Works (Teen Employment Education Network) program.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day said, "T.E.E.N. Works opens the doorway of opportunity for valuable work experience and a summer paycheck today, which leads our young people to realize a brighter future and their full potential tomorrow."

T.E.E.N. Works is a county-funded workforce preparation and placement program that combines a summer work experience with year-round career and life skills training. Designed for youth between the ages of 14 and 21, the seven-week program offers paid pre-employment training and a possible job placement upon successful completion. The mission of T.E.E.N. Works is to help teens and young adults grow into successful, contributing members of our local workforce with strong goals for their future.

Candidates who meet eligibility requirements will be paid the minimum wage of $9 per hour. The program begins July 11, 2016 and concludes August 25, 2016. Days and hours of operation will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Applications for T.E.E.N. Works are currently available at RocklandGov.com, or at the offices of the Rockland County Youth Bureau in New City. Applications may also be requested via U.S. mail. The deadline for submitting an application is June 10, 2016.
