STATEMENT OF ROCKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE ED DAY ON THE FOURTEENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 TERRORIST ATTACKS ON THE UNITED STATES

Today we remember the lives lost, the families torn apart and the brave troops who have sacrificed so much since that dark September day when evil acts of terrorism changed our nation forever.  Fourteen years later, our hearts remain heavy, but our resolve and faith remain strong.  I encourage all Rockland County residents to remember our local victims and survivors, as well as the first responders who served our nation during its time of need.  Let us also be reminded that the attacks on our nation brought about a reawakened sense of perseverance, a chance to renew and rebuild and the knowledge that we can do anything when we stand united.
