STATEMENT OF ROCKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE ED DAY ON NEW YORK STATE SENATE PASSAGE OF BILLS TIGHTENING LAWS AGAINST SEX PREDATORS

"As one who, as a county legislator, introduced a local law that placed strict limits on sex predators that courts now deem invalid, I commend the work of state Senator David Carlucci and his colleague Senator Jeff Klein. Empowering local governments to place further restrictions on convicted abusers will go a long way to keeping our families safe for generations to come. The well-being of our most vulnerable residents is of paramount importance. I expect the state Assembly to come together on this package of bills as proof our collective commitment to keeping our kids healthy and safe."
