NEW CITY, NY -- County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Youth Bureau Board of Directors are now accepting nominations for the 35th Annual Youth Forum and Awards Dinner.
"For more than 30 years, the Youth Bureau has recognized dozens of individuals for their efforts to support the young people in our communities," said County Executive Day. "This year's honorees will join a prestigious group of student and adult volunteers who have made a significant impact and improved the quality of life for so many local residents."
Criteria are based on a demonstrated commitment to exemplary volunteer service in the community.
The Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award – Two young people will be selected to receive this award and a $1,000 check for his/her dedicated service. This award is for volunteer community service, not for scholastic achievement or school related activities, clubs, etc. Non-college bound youth that have given service are just as qualified to receive the award as college-bound youth. The nominee must be able to corroborate two years of consistent service to one or more organizations or causes in Rockland County.
The Father F. Peter Malet Award – Nominations for this award are based on exceptional volunteer community service by an adult volunteer. The recipient will be selected based on their dedicated work on behalf of children, youth and families of Rockland.
