YOUTH BUREAU EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR SUMMER T.E.E.N. WORKS PROGRAM
Extension To June 2 Will Provide Additional Time For Local Teens To Participate In Key Program
NEW CITY, NY -- The application deadline for Rockland County's T.E.E.N. Works (Teen Employment Education Network) program has been extended to June 2. The seven-week program combines a summer work experience with year-round career and life skills training.
T.E.E.N. Works offers pre-employment training and a possible paid job placement upon successful completion of the program. The ultimate goal is for teens and young adults to become successful, contributing members of the workforce with strong goals for their futures.
"Young people taking part in T.E.E.N. Works gain critical skills and good references," said County Executive Day. "This is a key program that helps young adults grow into responsible members of our community."
Participants receive a stipend of $25 a day. The program runs from July 7 to August 21, 2014. Days and hours of operation will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Applications for T.E.E.N. Works are available at Rocklandgov.com, Rockland County's official website. Once completed, they should be mailed, e-mailed or dropped off at the Rockland County Youth Bureau, 18 New Hempstead Road, New City.
