JOINT STATEMENT OF COUNTY EXECUTIVE ED DAY, COUNTY ATTORNEY THOMAS HUMBACH AND ROCKLAND HEALTH FACILITIES CORP. CHAIRWOMAN SUSAN SHERWOOD REGARDING DISMISSAL OF SUMMIT PARK HOSPITAL AND NURSING CARE CENTER LAWSUITS
The dismissal of all three lawsuits seeking to halt the sale of Summit Park Hospital and Nursing Care Center is a major victory for the residents of Rockland County. The court stood up for the right of the taxpayer and the free market. Judge Loehr's decision upholds the rights of the County over the greed of Northern Services Group, Inc. Additionally, the CSEA's arguments were found to be without merit. We will continue to take an aggressive role in challenging senseless lawsuits from individuals such as Northern Services who are seemingly intent on putting their own self-interest, bias and personal agenda ahead of the larger good of the County, wasting time and precious taxpayer resources every step of the way.
