STATEMENT BY ROCKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE DAY ON THE PASSING
OF PETE SEEGER

Pete Seeger gave the gift of music to millions of Americans. In Rockland County, his grassroots work with the sloop Clearwater helped to rescue the Hudson River from decades of pollution and neglect. Pete was a pioneering force for social change, justice and equality. I know his message of peace and his love of the Hudson will live on as the region prospers, both culturally and economically. Our thoughts and prayers are with The Seeger Family today.
