ED DAY SWORN IN AS ROCKLAND COUNTY
EXECUTIVE

New City, NY -- Before an audience of hundreds of residents and local officials, Ed Day was officially sworn in today as Rockland County Executive during an inspirational ceremony at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona.

"Today we embark upon an era of renewal," said Day. "You will see bold action, already brought forth, continue." The oath of office was administered by Clarkstown Town Justice Craig E. Johns, while his wife Jean and two sons, Chris and Mike, looked on. County Executive Day was sworn in using his family bible.

Much of Day's inaugural message focused on a new direction for one of New York States most fiscally stressed counties. Said Day, "We will right our fiscal ship through a lean and efficient government." Day also vowed to target government corruption and promised openness from the top saying, "I pledge to you that my actions will be transparent to all."

The inaugural event was open to the public, with Day hosting a brief reception following the ceremony. Ed Day is only the third County Executive in Rockland's history.
