First Ever Rockland Repair Café a Huge Success

County Executive Ed Day announced that the first ever Rockland Repair Café was a huge success. The event took place Sunday, May 6th, 2018 from 10 am – 1 pm at the Nyack Center. The event paired Repair Coaches, who are neighbors with fix-it expertise, with people who brought in items to be fixed such as lamps, computers, clothing, frames, small appliances, wooden items, toys and electronics. Successful Drug Take Back Day

County Executive Ed Day announced that the first Drug Take Back Day of 2018, held Saturday, April 28th, was extremely successful. Prescription drugs were collected at five locations throughout Rockland County and many more unwanted prescriptions were dropped off than in previous years. [Read More]

Spring Valley Refuses to Pay Fair Share

County Executive Ed Day joined with Hi Tor Animal Care Center’s Board of Directors President, Debbie DiBernardo to denounce the actions of the Village of Spring Valley Government. On April 18th, the Village of Spring Valley failed to pass a resolution executing the Inter-Municipal greement between the Village and the County of Rockland for Hi Tor animal control. By failing to pass this agreement the Village of Spring Valley is refusing to pay their fair share of costs related to animal control. [Read More]

Ed Day Announced Today That Moody’s Investors Service Rated Rockland's Tax Anticipation Notes (tans) Mig 1

Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced today that Moody’s Investors Service rated Rockland's Tax Anticipation Notes (TANs) MIG 1, a clear sign that the fiscal policies he put into place are paying off for taxpayers. The MIG 1 rating is the highest short-term rating assigned by Moody’s to Notes. This is a first for Rockland County since it’s severe deficit position in 2011 and comes on the heels of its seventh consecutive bond rating increase in March. [Read More]
